Chairperson

Elementary Education Foundation

Education is one of the most critical services a government can provide to its people. Therefore, education is a priority for the Government because of its trickle down effect it has on all levels of development. Khyber Pakhtunkhwa requires major interventions in education to tackle the education emergency and enhance development.

The challenges in education delivery are two fold both on the supply side and demand side and the Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa is undertaking major initiatives to generate demand for education and increase supply to cater to the growing demand. On the demand side some of the Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa initiatives have included an enrollment campaign to encourage out of school children to enroll into school. On the supply side, the government is supporting the low cost private sector through the Elementary Education Foundation to bridge the gaps in education service delivery.

We would like to encourage the growing role of the private sector in playing a complimentary role to the Government for education delivery in underserved areas. The programmes being implemented through the Elementary Education Foundation are instrumental in assisting the Government to reach its education sector goals.

Our children are the future of our country and of the province and an educated child is likely to become an agent of change at the micro and macro level starting from family to the country. Therefore, investing in our children is the most important service we can provide for our country.
